Lucinda and I were luckily on the same page with look concepts from the get-go. While music was ever evolving, Rex coined us, “The white girls on the soul album cover.”. Or the mixed girl in my case! More Megan than Betty for you current season ‘Mad Men’ watchers.
While trying to keep certain aspects of the period, our costumes also need to be functional for our routine…and interesting. I, personally, am no fan of the leotard as Lucinda can tell you about my rant! We drew from both period and contemporary references to give our looks ‘the essence of’. Can’t wait to try them out!
