For Anybody with Any Body

SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY!

The auditions are Sunday, and as we run through our audition pieces (no more than 90 seconds long), my lovely Cirque School compatriots and I are back to working through the inconvenience (some say pain, even) brought on by various bruises, rope burns and blisters.  I will now distill the advice given to me from a number of different sources and say:

- Neosporin on open wounds (if you’re good with that)
- Arnica cream on the bruises (really, it works)
- Goldenseal salve (courtesy the wonderful Jennifer - CSLA student and my last showcase partner) on the rope burns
- Bag balm on all of the above before bathing (I’m also using it to moisturize skin traumatized by repeatedly crocheting legs in the ropes).

There’s a strange kind of pride in the ritual of first aid.  It’s proof on the ground of my work in the air.  And I couldn’t be happier.
